MARSHALL McDONALD, 
INSTRUCTOR/MUSIC

Marshall McDonald is a full-time Institute teacher at the University of Utah and currently serves as the Music Coordinator of Seminaries and Institutes for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He has also been teaching and directing EFY/FSY for two decades.

 

In addition to teaching, Brother McDonald is a well-known pianist, composer and arranger who has written music for movies like 17 Miracles and often writes for the group “The Piano Guys.” Marshall writes and produces music for church broadcasts and wrote music for the upcoming FSY Musical program this summer.

 

Marshall holds a Guinness book of world records for writing music for the largest live nativity in history. His music has been listened to on YouTube over an estimated 200 million times.

 

He and his wife, Kristien live in Salt Lake City with their 6 children.
